The Arena Pantanal stadium project, in the state of Mato Grosso, received the SESI Quality at Work Award on November 7th, 2012 at the state level, after competing with 25 other companies for a total of 32 social responsibility practices.

The award recognizes Brazilian companies that practice social responsibility and that value its employees. In the case of the Arena Pantanal project, former slavery workers could have a formal job giving them dignity while encouraging them to pursue basic and professional education.

The Arena Pantanal Project was among the five finalists at the award’s national level.

In 2009, Mendes Júnior was recognized for conducting a carbon neutralization inventory for the Paulínia Refinery (Replan) Project. This inventory was done in partnership with the Pró-Ambiente, an environmental consulting company. The objective of the study was to propose mitigating actions to reduce gas emissions, and identify possible environmental projects and other businesses.
