Theatro São Pedro, in the capital of São Paulo, hosted on Sunday (10/20), the Minas Gerais Philharmonic Orchestra in a concert offered by Mendes Júnior to students from Projeto Guri and the Escola de Música de São Paulo Tom Jobim (Emesp Tom Jobim ). On stage, the inspiration of young talent Conrad Tao, the 19-year-old Chinese-American pianist with an award-winning CV and the ensemble of one of the main orchestras in Brazil.
Guri is a program that develops musical education and sociocultural inclusion for more than 13,500 children and adolescents between 6 and 18 years old in the São Paulo Metropolitan Region. The program provides quality musical education combined with transformative social work. Emesp Tom Jobim aims to train future professionals in classical and popular music. Both are aligned with the social and productive inclusion practices developed by Mendes Júnior.

The invitation made to Projeto Guri and Emesp Tom Jobim is in line with what Mendes Júnior believes and is part of its inclusion practices. Among them, the program for graduates from slave labor and the prison system who are qualified and work on projects such as the construction of Arena Pantanal, in Cuiabá (MT) and UNILA, in Foz do Iguaçu (PR). The company also supports the Minas Gerais Rehabilitation Association (AMR), which serves around 500 needy children and adolescents with physical disabilities caused mostly by cerebral palsy, in addition to contributing to training and development initiatives for around a thousand athletes through of the Sports Incentive Law.
